Red Packet Money?

I am not sure it is called red packet or pocket money,it is the people who send the money to their kids at the new years.So should it called the red packet money?

it is called hong bao which is so popular in the Asian country.you can find many people doing that at the new year or some kind of festival.

I think is was originally called"hong bao" which like you said they send out the money at the festivals esp. in Asian country.
