is deja vu a trick of the mind, or something else?

de javu, something that you think it happen before or an event that repeats itself or a place you have been or a person somehow you know from somewhere or sometime. Is it just your mind is playing tricks on you, or does it have a more deeper meaning in one's life?

I have experienced deja va many times, both in the sense of feeling i've had the same conversations with the same people before, as well as believing i've been in particular places before. Personally, it's happened to me so many times that i'm not convinced that it's my mind playing tricks. But i'm not sure about what the deeper implications could be. Perhaps we live te same life over and over again infinately? Or maybe at some point we've had a premonition about the conversation/place so we recognise it when it happens in reality? I'm not sure what are your thoughts?
