Saddam Execution . . . Hanged!!!

Is it against human rights? Some says hanging is against human rights but others claim thats their culture. Other blame USA for the hanging but the question is, does hanging of saddam stopped terrorism? Poverty? As per report, around 60% of americans condemn the hanging but im not really sure if i have the right figure. America has more than 300m population and alot of its people condemn it. Does the blame be put to US alone? i am a neutral person but i just want to know why such things happens. . . . cruel world. . .

Are u a moron? Hanging saddam has nothing to do with terrorism! Saddam was hung because he slaughter thousands of people. He was tried in Iraq and hung for war crimes. However i do agree with you, 'Thou Shalt not kill' is this not one of the ten commandments? Its reallly crazy!!! I just dont understand it.

Do we STILL have to discuss this? How many times has the post come up in here? Hundreds, that's how many! Saddams own people hanged him, for violations against them... not the U.S.A. The U.S.A. just gave him up from their captivity for trial by his own people. Saddam was a violater of rights, on a huge scale, and hanging was too good for him. He deserved much worse, so can we now drop this subject. He's gone... he can't harm any more people... let's close the book, huh?

Saddam was tried in an Iraqi court by Iraqis not the US. Hanging is the legal method of execution in Iraq - Saddam himself sentenced thousands to die by hanging while he was in charge. Hanging has been stopped as a method of execution in many countries because the chance of "mistakes" can cause beheading or strangulation instead of a broken neck. If the rope is too long or too short, the height of the gallows incorrect, the release mechanism not operating smoothly, etc (any little thing can cause problems in a hanging). Does executing Saddam stop terrorism or poverty - NO. It was never meant to do that. He committed crimes against his people and his people found him guilty. He was never in charge of every terrorist in the world! And he was also not responsible for all the poverty in the world either. There are no "simple solutions" to either problem.

I dont agree that hanging will stop terrorism, only lessen. I alway favor with hanging it frightens people to do bad things specially the terrorist.

Killing in any way is not favorable. Much more when it is haging. I, too disagree with it. It's just taking others' lives in our hands.

Hanging of Saddam is of no benifit because Saddam was not a terrorist him self . If he was claimed of killing people than that was in a War he didn't killed those people by himself. And if he was charged for killing people in war than same thing goes for Bush he also killed innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan war.

Anytime a human takes the life of another, it is against human rights. So, does it really matter if hanging that p.o.s was violating any human rights? Didn't everything he did, and all that he stood for violate human rights??

No, it does not eliminate poverty, or terrorism, which makes it all pretty pointless....but, for some reason this world is ALWAYS going to be "An eye for an eye"

60% is a rediculously high number. My university conducted a poll afterwards. Our figures came in well under 60%... not even 40%. He deserved what he got. Its a shame it didnt happen sooner.

i think he should have given life imprisonment...hanging like that shows barbaric nature of humans....that too its for the misdeeds that he had done 2 decades back..

Dear, Sputnikbio i think the entire world knows who was responsible for innocent killings of Iqaris.I agree the terrorist act killed many but it was terror attack where as the killing of innocent children, the so called civilized people are responsible. Is this the way to restrict terrorist way killing civilians in the nane of war on terrorist.

Yes .. I completely justify the capital punishment of Saddham Hussain.. Although i agree ..he killed many persons for the sake of his nation.., ..he developed Iraq from scratch. ..in other words he nationalized Iraq.. BUT... at the cost of what?? at the cost of LIVES.. lives of humans .. his own country mates.. He killed several men just because he didn't get thrown out of this Place .. is this right?? Is this not against human rights??

Saddam should not be executed. Instead, rather than hanging, he should only be jailed for life. Hopefully, in the future, execution of crime making people will be banded and only jailing is allowed. Do you agree with my idea? Why?

according to me that was a wrong thing done by US. this is not fare that u go to some body's country, arrest their president and hanged him. they attacked on iraq saying that they hv some chemical weapon which is dangerous 4 entire world but still they hv not found such kind of weapon , so this attack was wrong and saddam's Execution was totally wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plz comment on my thought !!!!!
