chain mails a pain or gain

hey do you people believe in these chain mail things like if you forward this you will be lucky,or you will be cursed,etc??personally speaking i hate them and i don't believe in them.only if i get a mail from a very reliable source and if it does not look like a chain mail etc,i forward it.

I really hate such kind of chain emails i dont believe in them..but i really want to know why people create such kind of emails
