How can I stay awake at work?

Well I work 9 hrs a day and I'm in front of the PC the whole day and I get drowsy and sometimes I even lose conciousness of my surrounding for some period of time. So can anyone suggest the best way to keep awake? I have tried coffee but honestly it hasn't worked for me!

make a point of having time to rest because we need it, even animals do rest. this is one thing that will balance your body from being conscious becuse you have rest on what is needed, don't force yourself to any stressful things like smoking or drinking coffe( it helps but don't be use to it) because it make cause a serious effect of stress in the end. have a time to exercise so that toxic such as stress that causes drowsiness at a wrong time will be eliminated.

i think you should take short breaks on regular intervals just to get out of monotony of your schedule! go out of your cubical for a while, have a chat with a colleague, take a breather in fresh air! anything that would invoke a sense of freshness! thats what i do!

Its very common to have a period of drowsiness in the mid afternoons during a day at work. The best solution that I have found is proper nutrition, and making sure you get enough sleep each night. I have also found an energy drink occaisionally helps, as long as its not one of the sugar water varities.
