DOES the bible support war?

Interesting question. In the Bible it says clearly, "do not kill." As a contradiction there are many instances where he has aided, and even commanded, "kill my enemy," but as my husband points out, that could be the fact that history is written by the victor. In this case, it is better to go with the spirit than the word- the core values are to love thy neighbor and make peace. The word itself has been through so many hands, taken out of so much context, and written/"editted" over and over, that I find it absolutely irrational to take it word for word as truth.
