Mylot copy and paste rules---I want them changed!

Ok, I'm extremely annoyed now. It took me 3 tries just to post up my discussion topic. And the topic was about spammers! Now as you can see I'm not up to 500 discussion points in order for me to COPY and PASTE my discussion. So I had to RETYPE my discussion topic THREE times due to SERVER PROBLEMS! Mylot I am extremely annoyed by this, because regardless of the fact that you did this to control spamming, THERE ARE STILL SPAMMERS! Why should I have to pay for the actions of others? I mean if you want us to post more discussions, in order to get more discussion points, how are we supposed to do that when the server is always down. I think you should give the people with a high star rating, regardless of their discussion points, THE OPPORTUNITY TO COPY AND PASTE! We should not have to pay for the abuse of others. So mylot please reconsider your rules. Anyone else feel this way?

I certainly understand your frustration as I have been having trouble sending my topics and comments on here. I am able to copy and paste and think that in this situation that the people who post quality material,like yourself, should be able to copy and paste so they do not have to retype the comments they were saying. I think they need to upgrade their system to hold more members on here.

I can understand how annoying it would be not ebing able to copy and pasting, but if indeed most of you are newbies and didnt see the carnage that went on here before that rule came into place? It was horrific, and something needed to be done about it. I think mylot are doing the best they can in a hard situation. On saying this maybe they should bring it down to 300 and a rating of at least 5. What do you think?

Mylot is not going to point their finger's at anyone because they can't find all of the people who are spamming the cite so there for they are restricting everyone from coping and pasting. It is not mylot's falt or any one elses falt that you are not up to 500 for a rating. It looks like you need to work harder on it then what you have been. I've worked hard on my rating (number's) as well as the good quility posts that i make here to this site and so there for i've been able to reach my 500 posts. They stop people from coping to her the money the easy way. So i guess that it is time that you start putting those finger's on the keyboard and start typing.

I am not saying it's anyone's fault that I am not up to 500 yet. What I am saying though, is that it is extremely difficult to keep having to repost a discussion due to the server being down. Now here's my question for you...who's fault is it that the server is down?

i totally understand what you feel but you will get used to it. I have been there too. I have feel what you feel. Typing again and again. I think all members experience that except those ahead of us that didnt start with the new rule. Im just glad i have already reach my 500 so whenever the server is down( like as for this moment my internet line is down) i can copy and paste and i will not type it again. You can blame the spammers. I think mylot did the right thing. well just a few post then you will reach your 500. just be patient.

well. i hate it because i have to reach 500 posts before i can use the copy and paste tool and it is especially difficult for me because i dont have stble connections. God i hate it when i have to retype everything i have written!. i cant even remember exactly everything so the idea is lost forever!.
HOWEver, when i think about it i dont really have a say because mylot has its own rules and its own guidelines. im sure they have contemplated their actions before implementing it so id just have to respect it and leave it alone. sh*t happens and we just have to work more so that we can finally be able to copy and paste things. and this option is also a motivation for users to post more responses. so it does some good too. just be patient. you are nearly there!.

I agree! I'm so irritated when it won't accept something I've written, and it's usually long and well thought out, and then we can't post them because of the copy and paste rule. I usually type my responses in wordpad, so in the even that it craps out on me, I can RETYPE it word for word. But that's still a big nuisance!

you have to take tough time to type 500 discussions.becaYSAE IF IT IS BEFORE THAT U COPY PASTE ANY ONE DISCUSSION I MEAN THAT U CAN USE ANY TYPED DISCUSSION IN UR DISCUSSION BUT FIRST U HAVE TO FULFIL THAT 500 REQUIRE SO I M NOT IN FAVOR OF U.ENJOY MY LOT

i had the same experience too! i typed this long response about my highschool life (i think), but the page wont load! so first i just sighed and typed the thing again, and this time, i copied it so it wont be lost due to server problems. but lo and behold! i cant paste my response! i practically screamed in frustration.
well, i understand that mylot is preventing spammers and system abusers to fill mylot with junk, and if only their system works fine and the response posting page loads 100% of the time, then i would even agree about the no pasting rule. but as long as i experience losing my responses to system failures, i'd say mylot should put down this copy paste ban. most of the spammers probably have a rating of 500 and above anyway.

That is what I am thinking also, you can't tell me that those who rreally want to abuse the system on here didn't just wait to get to over 500. They are pobably the ones who post crappy responces that are one or two words, or have no point at all, just a few words to get the raiting number up!

I felt the same when I was under 500 points but now I agree there should be rules in effect. Although it is very VERY obvious that cheaters have found a way around it I saw a cheater this morning who is under 500 points but was able to copy/paste the same answer multiple times. Also if you copy your answer, paste it again when you get thrown to blank screen and get thrown to another blank screen your copy/paste is gone and you would still have to do it again.

Absolutely! I find my myself wanting to take a sentence and move it in my own posting, but no I have to delete it and retype. Of course I am far from 500 postings and no one has rated any of my posting either.
Or if I want to take statistics and post them? Nope and I take the chance to type them out in hope that I do not make a mistake. And if they ARE worried about plagerism...no worries from me because I know how to include a weblink or something to show where I have gotten the information.
I just finished writing a post on migraines. I hope if peole waant to use the sites I did not mess up the spellings, or dot coms and dot orgs!
Something does have to change!! Just because there are a few rotten apples, doesn't mean we all are!

i have also experienced this thing. some people copy and paste others response? cant they think? or they have lost their thinking power? hey donthave right to be here. they shud be ashamed on themselves how much its disgusting

Yes I agree. I understand they are trying to keep spammers away, and that's a good thing. I just don't think you need 500 points or more to get the privelage to copy and paste, you are up to 300. I think 300 is enough to get the privelage to copy and paste. Maybe after your discussion they will change the rules. Good luck.

I got the same message after trying to post a response the other thing but the funny thing was I did not copy or paste anything, i did not use any of those two functions and yet I got that message... can you imagine how annoyed I was??? i logged after that and did not post anything for the day due that. there must be a bug because even ppl that are not using copy and paste are getting the message.

Sever problem, as soon as I get two stars rating above my avatars, the next day it disappeared, HEY WHERES MY STARS?
this is so unfair mylot, you gotta let people copy and paste due your server crashes.

I am really agreed with you in this matter. I want to mention some other problems also. These problems are that when you rate some discussion the error comes in the page and you can not rate any discussion.
Well as far as your problem is concerned. I think it must have annoyed you very much. The problems you are discussing is really common with all others too. Mylot administration should really do something about this. As far as copy/paste is concerned I don't know why they have restricted this option. How could they stop spamming by this. Well we should all request about the change of the rule or if they don't want to change then please make us clear the whole story.

MyLot might not be able to STOP spamming, but they have greatly improved the situation. Before the new rule was introduced, we encountered case after case of copy and paste. The MLPD spent many hours tracing and reporting cheaters. Happily, we don't see any where near as much copy and paste now.
Today I found a copy of my own posting. It wasn't copy and paste but it was a definite copy. He was reported and I expect myLot will take action.
While I agree with the myLot ruling, I think the idea to allow copy and paste by high star ratings is a good one.

yeah.i very agree with u.mylot have to make some improvement about their rules and terms.they should think about the others user and give some benefit.i sure if mylot can make some improvement on their rules and terms,many people will eager to join this site and this will make mylot became the most popular website ever and every internet user will know about this.
