I can only think of a few.. I would count the Anne of Green Gables series, because I believe on PBS, they show like 3 or 4 movies (or parts) all together. That is a really great one. I also really enjoyed Stephen King's "The Stand". But I think my favorite of all time has to be "The Thorn Birds". I've seen it many times, I own the book, and I also have it on DVD.

My favorite TV series is House. We all sit around trying to guess what is really wrong with the patient. I know you only asked for favorite but I think these are a tie. Lost. That is the best show. We rented it by the season so we could just watch it all the way through.

Yes, Friends is good. However, a "miniseries" is actually a narrative drama designed to be broadcast in a limited number of episodes. Such as Roots, Shogun, Queen, The Stand These are usually a story told in 4 or 5 parts, that are maybe 2 hours each. If that makes sense. :)

Well I do like a few mini-series. Stephen King's IT and The Stand are great. The remake of the The Shining was also very good. Merlin with Sam Neil was an excellent mini-series. One I'd recommend for anyone who likes Arthurian Legend. V, was an excellent mini-series that turned into a series. I enjoyed that one. Wish the series was still in re-rurns. Deceptions with Stephanie Powers is another good one, about adult twins who trade places and the problems it can cause. The best though would be Roots, even if I haven't seen it in a long time. That one, well to me is the top in mini-series.
