what do the stars and colors of the stars mean?

I am not sure on what the stars next to your names mean. I just happened to get one today. I am glad to have one because im sure its a good thing, but what exactly does it mean. And ive seen different colors too. What does that mean. You all have been great helps. I appreciate it all. Thanks Again. Best of luck to you all!

It is called your reputation rating. It is based on an algarthym that takes the rating that others give your discussions and comes up with your rating. the colors are what they assigned to each number just to make it easier to see what a persons rating is.

The star represents how much You are quality poster.Since I saw Your star with number 7 that's pretty good.. Each star number has their color.
As You'll post quality postings you'll probably get higher star number than now. I hope you'll have in some days star with number 10 on it.:)

Did you notice the number inside the star? That's your user rating. I don't think the colours matter much, they just mix them up by your rating.
