Is it true that L-Lisyne Helps in Preventing Cole Sores?

Someone has told me that taking this herb helps in preventing cole/cold sores. Does anyone know if this is true?

I'm not sure if this will be helpful to you or not, but my cat was just diagnosed with a herpes virus. The vet gave me an antibiotic cream for her eye and a lysine supplement to give all my cats to prevent them from contracting the virus.

That's interesting. I guess something in it boosts the immune system to counteract cole sores, etc. I've heard of it working well with humans. Thanks for your response.
