Has anyone here used Skype for calling long distance? Do you still use it since it has gone into paying mode? (It was free unill 01/07. What do you think about the poeple who use it as their main phone line? Would you? The connection would make me think twice, along with not being able to dial 911.

I used to use it before we moved, and I don't like the fact that you have to pay now. I know the fee is nominal but I also don't like that you can only call other Skype members.

I used Skype couple of months back for international calls. Skype-to-skype calls were free and Skype Out i.e. calls to landline numbers required purchasing talk time. I am not sure if Skype-to-Skype is free or not, now. I found the voice quality to be excellent. Voip can in no way replace landline telephony.

Skype is free. You have to pay only when you call numbers outside the skype network(international, mobile networks etc.) Skype-to-skype connection is excellent. It is good for me - yes I use Skype almost every day.
