Chinese Buffet

One time, as my family tried out a new Chinese buffet place, I was amused by all the rules posted on the wall. I've been to many Chinese buffet but this one is unique. In big bold letters in the wall, it says in there, "don't fill up your plate and wasting food is not allowed here." I mean...hello? Nobody likes to waste food but there are times that there are dishes in there that once you tasted it, you can't swallow the food or too much MSG on it. Bottomline, we never went back in there and told our friends what can they expect if they tried that place. Do you have any experience, funny or not , when you went visit a buffet place?

my boyfriend and i went to this chines restaurant too, and they had a buffet promo, so we tried it. the rule they have, however, is this "absolutely no leftovers please." so you have to eat everything that you take, or else you're gonna have to pay for it separately.

I have been to a lot of chinese restaurants but have never seen that posting before. Don't think I would like to see that posted to read when I was eating. People are going to waste food no matter what you post on the wall. They really had some nerve to post that and think people would really follow that. All buffet places see a lot of waste. People just try to over eat and then can't eat what is on there plate.

yes thats true, but i have been to some that have no msg in them and its wonderful. but still i have seen people load up there plates and only eat a few bits thus having the rest thrown out. take only what you can eat and if its good then proceed to get more.

Yes we did, in Makati. It was really expensive like P3,500/head, its a Brazilian restaurants and open bar...wow, i still wanted to go back there....you shouldnt eat breakfast, or lunch till dinner if you go there, fr grilled sea foods, to beef, pork, still hot serve to you when you turn your badge green they will keep coming back to your table to serve the food, but if you turn it red it means stop...or you can turn it again green...and while these waiters serving this hot grilled meat and sea foods to your table, you can also stand up and choose the different kinds of cooking they put at the other side and lots of desserts...its quality and the service, so among the places of buffet i have been with that was the best place. Its just that you have to make reservation earlier.

That is crazy. The whole point in a buffet is that you can try new things and see what you think. The buffet we go to is great. There are no rules and the staff are lovely and friendly.

I think that's so silly. I'm not sure what the prices are like there, but here you pay over $10 per person to eat food that's been sitting under heat lamps for at least an hour. If I can't eat it all, I won't, and my $10 dictates that. Ridiculous. Good for you for passing on the word, and warning all your friends.
