Better life for Scots?

Given the recent comments by tony blair that the Union of England and Scotland still has benefits today, would the wishes of the increasingly popular Scottish National Party to grant Scotland independence lead to a better life for Scots?

I think it would be extraordinary and that the Scots should have some say in the rule of the land is not far fetched

They already have some say but the decibels for autonomy is increasing by the day. Will it improve the standard of living for them?
