Do any of you track the good and/or bad posters here?

I'm new here and I've been noticing a trend from posters. There are the good posters who put a lot into the discussion/posts and there are the bad ones that either double post in the same discussion or don't take much thought in the discussions they start or responses they give (The people in it for the money). I was thinking of keeping track to make it easier so that if I see discussions/posts from the bad people I'll stay away and if I have them on my good list, I'll be more likely to check out their discussions/posts. So, what do you do?

I am a horrible poster. I really have no clue what to talk about. I find it easier for me to keep track of my friends who start interesting discussions all the time. I have sen the discussions you are referring to which is why a lot of my friends have the notify button on OFF. I only use the notify ON for the friends I know start great discussions.

Not sure what you mean about the notify ON or OFF button - sounds interesting though. I don't just mean the people that start the discussions either. Some of the one-word responses and stuff is very annoying to me. It's wrong too. They just seem to be the people in it for the money. This ranking system seems to be working though. I found this one person posting short questions as the discussion and the question was repeated in the text, and that's it. The person even had the same response to those that posted to the discussion. It's just pathetic! Any ways, I started reporting and "-" this person, and I noticed a change in the person's ranking pretty quickly. If the person actually posted something worthwhile, I'd give them a "+" because I don't hold a grudge. I just figure if people had a list, they'd now which discussions to avoid, etc.

Well, now that there are a lot of bad posters unindating us with useless posts, I've read in other discussion that people are starting to keep track of these bad posters! YEAH!!! Now maybe people will really understand why I started this discussion!

I try to become friends with the honest and sincere people here. Others, that are not, I report of avoid them. I have a general idea of who is who, but there are always new people that we just cannot get to, so it is usually as I go. Sometimes, I get lucky and all the people around are serious, and other times, all the people around are spammers. Each day is different. I am glad though, that a lot of people, including the mylot admin are getting all the spammers.

I do the same things. I used to go to the 'discussions with no posts' to try to respond to the good posts - to help others at myLot, that deserve it. But I had to stop after all the spamming. I'm just glad that I found out about the part of being able to just check out your friends' discussions. I'm definitely liking that option!

This is one of the bad posters I have ever seen. No responses were made to this discussion. But best answer was selected by the discussion maker. I got no Idea of how this happened in the myLot. For 2 weeks the discussion was Ideal without a posting.

Hey, it was one of my first posts - sorry to disturb you so much. I was hoping to get an answer to the question. Thanks for taking the time to not answer the question but to be negative. Have you checked out my other discussions with hundreds of responses, and still counting?

Well, seeing as no one is going to answer me, I thought I'd let you know that I decided on my own about whether I should start tracking bad posters.

I am still pretty new here, too-- so far what I have tried to do is be pretty judicious about who I add to my friends list, and then I use my friends list as a good starting point to get to good quality discussions, because I try to only add people who start good discussions and/or offer quality responses. And I find new people to read (which, for example, is how I ended here) by looking at the profile of those who seemed to make consistently intelligent comments on friends' discussions. At this point, I very RARELY check the myLot front page, or "new discussions" when I want to read. But then, I also don't have a huge amount of time to spend here.

Thanks for the comment. I've recently found out about that option, and I'm lovin' it! I hadn't really noticed it until I saw somone mention it in a discussion. I suggest that everyone who wants quality to do the same thing.
