Is the last days of Lost the TV series coming to an end? I was reading it on the internet that they are choosing its end date for they can no longer compete with other shows in the line up... What if the show ends will you miss? http://english.eastday.com/eastday/englishedition/features/userobject1ai2570187.html

Well, I hope the show doesn't go on for to much longer because they are really dragging things out. I love and will miss the show like crazy, but I'd rather it end well then continue and end poorly. What will I miss the most??? Sawyer and Kate. lol I will also miss the mystery that the first season was made of....I already miss that now.

My hun and I predicted that it would not make it to its 5th season and I feel it may not make it through this season, depends on the rating. To many strange things are happening.

No longer compete? As far as I know, it is one of the most popular shows on TV right now. It's on a long hiatus right now and returns in February. I do not think its going to end anytime soon since I can't see how they could possibly wrap it up very quickly. There are I think 16 new episodes coming out.

At one time I would have missed LOST when they were to end it. That was before they started showing repeats mid season and then did this season where they had a big hole in the scheduling. It is hard to follow a story when you have to wait and wait and wait to find out what happens next. LOST was a great story that bad scheduling killed.

I noticed it started veering off the path in some point and I would actually loose interest and there has been to long of breaks between each new episode and season that I have found new shows to fill the gap.

From what I've read (including the article you mention) they are NOT talking about ending the show because of competition. They are doing it because the show has many complicated plot twists that need to be tied up , and the creators want to know far in advance how much time they'll have to bring the story to a conclusion that makes sense and that viewers will be satisfied with. Some fans have complained that the show has introduced a lot of twists and turns and hasn't shown where they are leading, so I think the creators want to know how much longer they have--2 seasons, 3, etc.

They say it takes a couple of weeks to put one episode together, which is why they have the breaks mid-season. That and, I think they are trying to dodge the reality shows that are filling up the schedules. Look at what just started this month - The Apprentice, American Idol, Beauty and the Geek, and the constant presence of Deal or No Deal. I loved Lost but am pretty fed up with the neverending puzzles with no answers. It is getting frustrating. If and when it ends I will miss Jack and Hurley. Hurley is hilarious! He gets some great lines, Dude.

yes it is better to end it now before it gets to crazy and out of control. I mean when I first saw it I had idea it would last this long. It was to constrictive.

I think that they have killed the show and their followers with their continued breaks and reruns. It is very frustrating and from what I undstand they are planning the season finale so they can start wrapping up the show, most likely it will not be ending this year.

It is supposed to last seven seasons, but one never knows. ABC is not that good at science fiction. Look I expected the Others to be some super humans with psychic powers or aliens but look what they gave us, scientists working for an organization called Dharma who is conducted various experiments.

So, is season 3 the last one? I'd surely miss it, but I think it's better if they put an ending to it than making it very lenghty that it might become boring for the viewers.

The writers need to come up with stories that will pull back the fans. Although I am not one of those fans that want more, more, more, at least give some answers to questions that people have been trying to guess at. With any series it is a guessing game as to how long a show will survive. Keeping the fans interested is tough. I for one would not like for the show to come to an end. But, it is inevitable that it will end. There will be another to replace it. But, if it were to end, my Wednesdays will never be the same.

I think to many fans are leaving, and it may be to late, with 24 starting up, and with other show with powerful season openers it will be tough. thanks for the post

it probably will show this season than find a way to tie up the loose ends and then bow out gracefully.

It's not going to end soon. They're going to make it last 100 episodes, 5 seasons. It's only season three now, so we've still got halfway to go. I think that all the questions will eventually be answered. The creator, JJ Abrams, has said that he doesn't want this to turn into another X-Files, with so many twists and turns that by the end even the show's creator can't make any sense of it.

But the way they are running it their will be no body alive to finish it and it will be stale as last weeks dried toast. I don't see it going on that long. thanks for the post.

Wow, I haven't heard this before. I think they made a big mistake this season with the huge gap between the shows. There is so much stuff going on that it's really hard to remember it all when the show has been off for 3 months. I think they'll lose a lot of viewers who may have found new shows to watch in that time. As for what I'd miss, it would have to be having an inteligent show on TV.

i understand, by putting the large gap between it has made people find another way to fill that gap and I am not sure if they can compete anymore. thanks for the post.

I hope not. This is my favorite TV show. The one thing that bothers me is the long brakes the show takes. It's hard to keep up when your missing it for 13 weeks. Jack, Sawyer, Kate, John and Hurley, are the best TV characters to come along in the history of TV. If they are planning the last eposide, they better clear up all the mysteries.
