It can get you dishonorably discharged from any of the branches of military service. Notice I said "can"..... very rarely do they actually enforce it. Most of the time when they do its to add ontop of something else.

I live here in Michigan and I did not know that! But that's good. My husband is not the cheating type...never had to worry about that kind of think with him...but now there is just that much extra incentive not to lose his mind and step out on me! LOL But seriously, marriage is not only a religous institution, but in America, it is a legal, contractual agreement. If you breach the contract, you ought to suffer some penalties. Just from a legal standpoint, there are so many financial benefits to being married, that if you abuse such a thing, you should be penalized. I.C. Jackson

Go to prison for cheating on your partner, thats a first for me. Well maybe thats a good thing, it will prevent people from cheating on each other, and also will make them think twice before getting married, to make sure that person is who they want to spend their lives with, with trust.

Virginia has the same law, only it is the appearance of Adultery here. If I have a guy friend over at night and my husband is not home, I can be charged. I think it is wrong, but it is a law that is very rarely enforced.

thats not fair and such laws must be dissolved...these laws only lead to increased distrust and divorces.

Really? I never knew that, that was even possible. I don't agree with putting people in prison for that. People have a right to do whatever they want.
