Do you have college students that you would love to just give that perfect gift to. They tend to present a unique problem because they are limitee in time and space but they still have to eat. How about that Elder man or woman down the stree who always smiles and waves as you walk by. Wouldn't you love to make them smile too. These are great recipes to make and put in plastic sandwich bags with a ribbon tied around it then added to a cute mug. They are very frugal to make and you can purchase the mugs at the thrift store for a small price. These are a few of my favorites to give as gifts. Be warned though - You will be tempted to keep them for yourself! I have many more recipes for gifts in a mug if you want more just ask for them in the comment section. Enjoy! Ohhh thank you! I have copied these (yes, I can copy and paste in that direction ...to my computer...just not from my computer to the mylot discussions yet...grrr...) they are great for almost anyone! The local BigLots has pretty Christmas mugs after Christmas for 75% off...and I have always wondered what I could do with them! Now I know! I have seen mugs for virtually all holidays. Of course, the best would be just a pretty mug for a 'just because' gift. I call them that anyway...and when the person asks what I mean...I say 'just because I care for you! or just because you are so special!

I have a drawer devoted to my "Just Because" gifts. I purchase things on clearance sales and such. There is always someone in need of a pick me up.

Another great idea! So glad that you have made your way to MyLot. I love your ideas. You can buy mugs for a song these days and what better way to fill them than with a mix to enjoy.

Great ideas! I've done mugs and filled them with a rice pilaf. It is instant rice, with chicken boullian, dried cherries, parsley & garlic powder. Directions are to just add water and microwave.

I have to admit that your ideas are absolutely mouth watering. Had I any need for these I most certainly would. However, I don't have any children and I'm older than most people in my neighborhood which means there would be no need to make anyone smile. But I have copied and pasted them to a file and if in the future the need arises I will have them to handy. Thanks for the tips.

I love these ideas!! Please add more. The only problem I have is that I do weekends in a womens correctional (long, long story)facility and we can cook in the microwave but we can't have perishables (so no butter, eggs or milk). Can you come up something that would fit here? I'm sure all the girls in my dorm would love it if you could. I'm always trying to bring new stuff and goodies for them as they don't get to leave during the week like I do. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. teresacornelius1987@yahoo.com
