My aunt brags her underteen daughters mentrual period

I've heard about people doing that, but never actually heard someone talking about it. Some women celebrate it as a coming of age thing. But it seems awfully embarrassing to me. Maybe as a small thing between mom & daughter, but not for everyone to know. If my mom did that to me, I'd be really hesatant to tell her other personal stuff. That could be a big problem in the future.
