according to e the best pair to open for india would be sachin and ganguly...they are by far the best indian openers so far..and one of the best opening pairs in the world..sehwag should go down the order and should come 4 or 5 down...if this combination works INDIA has got a great chance of winning the world cup

Though Ganguly and Sachin opening pair is the greatest that India has ever had and one of the greatest opening pairs in one day cricket, I think Ganguly and Dhoni would make a successful combination for the World Cup. Ganguly is a phenomenal opener and Dhoni has had some success at the top and in fact, his highest score of 183 not out came as an opener. West Indian pitches have slowed down over the years and are not the bounciest as in South Africa or Australia or where the ball swings like in NewZealand. So, Dhoni can handle the new ball there and he along with Ganguly can provide good and rapid starts for India. If Sehwag is selected, he should be pushed down to No.6 and should not be played as an opener.

Shewag coming at 4 or 5 is of no use. I feel the right cjoice would be Ganguly to be at 4 or 5 because of his experience to handle any situation of the match. I dont feel Shewag can handle the situation there. Shewag if stikes at the opening then these are the ones who would make more wonders down the line.

i think sachin and saurav are the best opening pair, but as sachin is regaining his confidence and so do saurav i think its better to open the innings with saurav and shewag/uthappa.

Sachin and Ganguly. I heard Sehwag is going to be in the middle order?? I caught Vengsarkar saying this, does that mean Uthappa will open? or will it be Sachin himself with Ganguly, I hope it is Sachin. He is a natural opener.

i think even rahul dravid and chappel are still scratching their heads ,in every match they are experimenting it.
but i like the ganuguly and sachin pair . then shewag and sachin did well .
but now in west indies series uthappa done a great job , i hope he is in the world cup squad . lets wait and see

Yeah i feel ideally left right combination in form ofsachin and ganguly should open for India. As sachin adn ganguly have been the msot successfully opening pair India has had in ODIs. And both are matchwinners and should paly max. overs.

I think that Shewag and Ganguly should come as an opener and sachin sould come as 1 down or 2 down. So that there would be reliablity in the middle order if sachin comes in the middle. And I am sure that scahin and shewag can provide the better start.

old is gold always taking an old opening pair which have a good rate of opening records together will be good so sachin and ganguly opening pair will be of top choice available to india .i vote for sachin and dada. thou sevage is also an option available with both of them
