Height of perfection

A film shooting was going on.The director was picturizing a scene,in which, the central character,a rich Baron walks down an ornate stair case and goes towards the camera, which was positioned at the bottom of the stair case. The shot has come up nice and the director was happy. But the actor insisted for a re-take.Not understanding the reason for a re-take, the director agreed reluctantly. This time too the shot was perfect. But again the actor insisted for a re-take.The director lost his patience and asked the reason for so many re-takes.The actor moved towards the wooden stair case and removed the carpet spread over the carpet."This is the reason. see this small stone under the carpet is imbalancing my walk rhythm. That's why I was asking you for repeated re-takes all along."

If he knew what was causing the imbalance, he should have removed the stone from there in the first place.

Had he known about it,he would have removed it. The Director involved was Satyajit ray and the actor was thespian Chabi Biswas. Satyajit ,a stickler to details failed to notice the flaw in the stair case and Chabi Biswas had immense faith in Satyajit's meticulous organizational capabilities. Perhaps this is the reason,Chab didn't bother to check. Here I wanted to stress, the devotion of some people who never compromise with the things.

I am not debating the point you were trying to make, but it sounded a little wierd that when asked by the Director he was able to point to it. I guess being a software person I do root cause analysis with everything. The best people can oversee somethings.

That's the advantage of being a software person. They have an uncanny knack seeing through and beyond the obvious.Thank you for the response.

This is what happening with many people. They are doing things repeatedly without eliminating and analysing the problems. If you ask some person who is related with that, he may give a answer like this " that is not my duty!"
