That its better to avoid jail if you're not homosexual ? lol Really , its one of Stephen Kings better works , its a glorification of Mind ,Intellect and Human Achievement . In a lot of stories , the virtues of the hero are described ,then as the hero overcomes and prevails it is shown how he deserved that because of these virtues or qualities . Usually these qualities are courage , brute strength ,virtue or morality etc . The most striking feature in the quiet reserved protagonist of this story is his INDIFFERENCE , frequently commented on by the narrator character , Red , who describes him as being as though he felt he was better than others . The detached , nonchalant attitude are is usually associated with scholars, philosophers and intellectuals in general . A recurrent theme in King stories is the belief in the essential Good of people , also seen in this story when the prisoners , although apparently of different "cast" than the hero , the prisoners all cheer when they hear he escaped successfully ,as though he was the same as any one of them (good is the same in all people ,whatever their social or educational background) I enjoyed a lot of King's novels , I think he is a visionary writer .

i have seen shawshank redemption and i believe it's one of my favorite movies. it's a story about patience, courage, cleverness and strength. it tells us about the power of trust and friendship. at first, i admit, i found it so boring. but later on, i can't even leave my seat. i wanted to go on watching and i felt great that the story ended well.
