If mankind hasn't invented marriage, would life be fun or disaster?

Though marriage is biblical, only mankind has started such a custom and people become stereotypical and expecting that at one point in life marriage has to set in. What if no one has ever thought of it?

I think marriage was invented as we can't live like animals. If it was not there then U must not be having a family. But now a days marriage is not being preferred there are many live in relationships now. No one wants to get committed but I think marriage is a better institution than anything. Life without marriage would be for me a disaster.
