Have you ever thought about writing a book?

My grandfather wrote a very interesting book. It was based on his life in his native republican country, then his career in the military. The ship in which he was sailing got stuck in the middle o a storm and he and his military co-workers had to eat coconuts for almost 30 days to survive. But they made it! What would you write a book about?

I've always wanted to write a novel. But after listening to tons of novels on my iPod, I don't think I have the imagination or writing ability to do it successfully. I've always been impressed by people who could make a living by writing. It was my strong point in school, but since getting married and having kids, I seem to have lost my creativity.
