When should you stop breastfeeding?

I have a 6 month old little girl, who is breastfed. I have been doing a little asking around and some moms say they stop when they start to eat food and some say they stop when baby no longer wants to breastfed. How old where your children when you stopped and why did you stop?

Talking to a lot of parents i have discovered that most just stop when their child begins to eat food. I mean they continue for about 2-3 weeks and then stop...
