The brackets that a hold a number beside our user name. What does this number represent here on mylot and how does it rise and fall???

you have made 164 responses and the number can go down if you answer a few topics that are deemed unworthy by Mylot standards. Number is nothing to do with quality or anything else, just the number of responses you have made.

It rises with the number of discussions you start and responses you make. It can fall if a discussion that you created or one that you responded to is deleted.
Discussions are deleted on a regular basis if they contavene the Guidelines (Rules).
