I was called off once, but they let me go because I was pregnant. Why are people so scared of it?

I don't think people are scared off... I think it's a rip off. My husband spent two days off work... while they went through the selection process. He received a check in the mail 3 weeks later for $32.00... FOR TWO DAYS! That dosen't even cover 3 hours of his wages at his job. We can't afford that... who can??

Usually it's because people have to work for a living and when you are put on jury duty you are usually only paid $10 or so a DAY! That's a lot of money lost!..plus it interrupts your daily routine and schedule.

I guess that people wouldn't like to cope with the responsibility of being in charge of whether somebody gets punished or not, from jail sentences to fines guilt can do bad things to people...
