Idiots to VOTE! / myLot

New Jersey is to consider cutting the word 'idiot' from its constitution so that people with some mental disabilities won't be barred from voting. They say that poeple with disabilities may be capable of making decisions in a voting booth, and those people should not be discriminated against. Well isn't that a bit sick ? What do you think?

Quite honestly, I think 90% of the people who go to the voting booth have no clue who any of the candidates are or what they stand for. In other words, they are just as qualified to vote as people with mental disabilities.

I totally agree with your point - but so is politics - major politics are being elected cause the were on the top of the list or their name sounded familiar to the voter!
