when i was younger, i used to be the center of attention. and i like the feeling! but when i was in college, i started to be embarrassed to be the center of attention. too much teasing and it makes me feel uncomfortable.

No, I don't like to be the center of attention. I'm not shy but I don't want people pushing me to do things, being put as a leader, I'm more of a follower. I like to be on the sidelines, doing things quietly and by myself.

I do not like to be the center of attention all those people staring at me make me nervous like they are going to laugh at me for doing something idiotic or saying something totally dumb. I'd rather sit back and watch and listen to other people. But i've been shy since i was a kid!

I actually prefer to be left alone and tend to be by myself at parties.

i dont really like being the center of attention. it kinda makes me feel uncomfortable. i dont really take praise very well nor do i like all the attention on me cause i fear that i'll do something wrong or receive criticism or something. i always get really nervous when someone stares at me a long time, even my boyfriend.

I sure don't. I'm shy, so I prefer to stay away from confusion instead of being the center of everyone else's atention and I also don't like people who try to be the center of other's atention. I find them so fool that I can't even describe it.

I think the correct saying is "center of ATTENTION" and no, I shy away from that. As a matter of fact, Im so shy that i decided to join the drama team in my church to get over my shyness. Everytime we have exercises on stage to help us overcome stagefright, I get all sweaty palms, my heart starts racing and I feel like Im going to hyperventilate. Thanks for the topic.

Well, for me, I don't try to steal the "limelight" but if it ends up being me as the center of attention, then I'm not shy so I am ok with it. It does not inflate my ego or make me "the best" as you said. No one that is the center of attention is ever "the best"..
