Why do men make us suffer when they are sick?

My dad recently came home from the hospital after having surgery. I've noticed that when my mother is around, he really lays it on thick about how bad he is feeling. But when he is alone with me or my husband he is walking fine (I can hardly keep up with him), feeling okay, etc. I have also noticed that my husband does the same thing. Let him have a headache or toothache and for some odd reason his legs won't work to get himself an aspirin. Now if me or one of the kids are sick, he runs for the hills. Am I the only one that experiences this?

no dear we all ladies probably facing this... you know these guys are like a kid... and when they becoem sick they want more attention so by pretending that they are in pain they want to get our sympathies or they think they'll be pampered by us.... so take it easy it is natural or may be other kinda way of showing love....
