Kmart or Walmart, which do you prefer?

Which store do you prefer to shop at, Kmart or Walmart? I think they both have the same quality of merchandise, but I prefer Walmart. I usually have an easier time finding what I am looking for at Walmart. Many times when Kmart has a sale, the item I am looking for is out of stock. I get very frustrated when that happens. I also like Walmart Supercenters because I can do my grocery, clothing and housewares shopping all in one store.

I prefer Walmart over Kmart. Reason being the Walmart has a food area as well whereas Kmart where I does not and also because it's further away...

Walmart for sure. The prices are much lower and I actually think the merchandise is of better quality. The stuff that you buy at Kmart has often been on the shelves longer so if you buy and kind of food orsnaks they are not as fresh. Also as you say it is much easier to find the things that you need al Walmart. The only thing that frustrates me are the long lines at Walmart. If they could have more cashiers working, especially on the weekends I would be much happier with their service.

to be honest i don't really like either.. the walmarts and kmarts over here are always so busy and dirty.. i don't care for them.. but between them both i will go to walmart because its got better deals.. I usually just go in for what i went for and leave because if i stay then i will get frustrated.. I personally like target.. thats my favorite.. its clean, not as busy and when it is busy.. i don't know its more calmer then the other two.. but the prices are a little higher.. when i can afford it i shop there instead of walmart sometimes..

Walmart all the way. I do like Kmart for the clearance but walmart is one stop shopping and seams to give you the most fore your money. It is nice to go to one store and get everything that you need. I almost anytime of the day. Just recently we had visitors from overseas and they could not believe how walmart stayed open for 24 hours. and that they had all of the things in one place. I am very thankful that with my busy schedule that I can get all of the things that I need in one place. Hooray for Walmart.

I prefer the Walmart Supercenter near me more than the Kmart Supercenter. Kmart's store is older and smaller and the employees are few and far between, plus they're always out of stuff! Walmart's drawback: unless there's snow on the ground or extremely early in the morning, it's always too crowded. I prefer Target--high quality products and I can do my food shopping too (except fresh meats and produce).

Walmart by far. I use to love Kmart but over the last several years they are going downhill fast. Kmart's prices are too high now. When they first started out years (dating myself here) they were Kresgies (sp) they were known for low prices and nice variety of items. Now, they are leaning towards high end, specialized lines. They do not have a great selection either. I personally do not like many of the cashiers they have either. Walmart offers a huge variety, never seem to be out of anything. Their prices are reasonable and can make a dollar stretch. I like that I can go to a Super one and get groceries too. Their cashiers are nicer too. :)

My answer is... Target! I sincerely dislike Walmart and avoid it as much as possible, but I will go there when I have to, like when it's the middle of the night and nobody else is open. K-Mart in my area is not terribly clean and the merchandise there never looks very good to me. It seems pretty junky in my observation. I really like Target Superstore and go there most of all. It's mostly for the reason you like the Walmart superstore, as everything is there, but I just like the merchandise and the atmosphere a lot better. When it's strictly for groceries, we have been going more and more to The Fresh Market, which is pricey but absolutely worth it if you can spend the money because the quality of their meats and produce is above reproach and way over any other store in my area.

I have to say Walmart for me. Kmart here is usually dirty. The don't have the prices of the merchendise on the shelves so I have no idea the price of things. The price scanners are nowhere to be found and neither are the employees. Walmart, I have had far better experiances with. It may be crowded at times but I try not to go in the busy times. I have found things at Walmart that I have not found anywhere else and their prices are good.

I prefer Wal-Mart. One I like their selection better then the K-Marts around my area. The other is their return policy. I don't like how K-Mart has gone with that. If I have a problem with something it is not a difficulty at Wal-Mart where as K-Mart, even with the receipt, there are some things they will not exchange, like DVDs even if they are broken. Overall I also like the prices at Wal-Mart. They run lower then K-mart on most things.

I mostly go to walmart but I do love to go to kmart at the end of summer and end of winter because you find really cheap stuff. the clothes are always marked way down.. the same at walmart. I like them both really..

I prefer walmart to kmart because they have a larger selection. I often shop at walmart for crafts because kmart does not have a craft section. Although I do go to kmart if I am in a hurry to get a few grocerys or need to pick up a CD that FYE did not have. I do this because where i live very few people still shop at kmart it's mostly just retired people who don't like large crowds that are keeping them in business. Also they offer unedited CD's whereas all of walmarts stuff is censored.

I'd have to say Wal-Mart...Though I hate the fact they've done away with Layaway at both stores. I like Wal-Mart better because, at least where I live, it's two blocks from home...I can get most of my housewares and electronics and stuff there, and while I'm shopping, my wife and I can leave the car for an oil change and tire rotation and other basic services. I have to admit though, I haven't been too impressed with the Supercenters in our area, as Albertson's and Safeway tend to have much better prices on produce and meats. I will not, however, buy CDs at Wal-Mart as I think their policy on not selling stickered CDs and only selling edited versions stinks. We love Target, too...Their clothes and diapers are better quality and priced similarly to Wal-Mart.

I prefer Walmart. They're cheaper than Kmart. Anyway, we don't have a Kmart anymore. They got shut down for being one of the Kmarts in the worst condition out of all the chains. I remember that they used to have buckets all over the place in the store to catch the water that dripped from the ceiling. The Kmart here was pretty poopy.

i think both of them the same. but its really depen where do you shop normally. let say if you shop in walmart often then kmart then of course you can find things easily in walmart. when every department store has a sale of course the stock is run out quickly because of the demand of the customer and the availability on the product. i agree with you it is much more easier when we can buy all products in one place and it is very convinience and effective but sometime we also need to consider the quality of the products itself.

I like Kmart for the sales and because it is less crowded. Walmart has become a big pain to shop in lately expecially in the super stores because of all the things have been mored around the items are more closely together and it is like a mad house to get to the far side of the building. I onl wish that kmart had fabric because I would shop there more if they did. I have to go to walmart for my fabric and so I just do the rest of my shopping there. Plus I find the people are nicer at kmart and it is easier to get help at kmart.

I prefer wal-mart. Because that is very very close to where i live. By walk it just takes 15 min. I am very much used to it and so it is the inevitable choice.

I prefer Walmart because their prices are usually a lot cheaper than Kmart and they also have more of what I'm looking for as well. Kmart generally doesn't have as much and I'll only go there if I don't feel like waiting in big long lines at Walmart! :)

Wally's World of course! My girlfriend works at WalMart now so...eheh. There is a KMart and WalMart really close here, and recently (a year or so) they built a WalMart superstore really close to my place. It's so big... and yummy... and fun @_@

I'm with you, Pebbles. I am a Walmart girl! We have the supercenter here so I do most of my shopping there!
