this is my second semester, and i just spent $491 on text books. the lady at the register asked if i just transferred here because i had so many books! i spent a ton last semester too, and all i got back was about $100. it really sucks! and i barely used a few of those books. like i didn't even need my bio book, and i didn't touch it, and i only got about $40 back for it when i spent well over $150..

If yo want to save tons of money on books, buy them online, and use a price compaison site such as www.wecomparebooks.com

I've been selling used texts online for roughly seven years and have found that I get the best prices and fastest turnover when I list on Amazon.com . Be wary of Half.com; their customer service is very poor. Most colleges have either traditional or electronic bulletin boards, and you might also want to try listing there.

You should sell your books online through Ebay, Half.com, Barnes & Noble or Textbookx. You won't get what you paid for them but you will get much more than what the bookstore will give you for them. You can also shop online for the best buyback price. Most of the time the college you go to won't offer you the best deal you can get.

I had that problem too. Why don't you try buying second hand books? I use to wait until my course started to see which books I'd actually need and which ones I could just use at the library.
