Have you ever had a former employer tell lies about you?

Hey everyone, I was curious. I recently left a job and, after I left, the boss told everyone I keyed his truck. He also decided he's holding my pay to cover the damages. He never reported the damages to the police. I know he has no evidence because I didn't do it. But it made me wonder, anyone else ever had a bad experience after leaving an employer?

I'm not sure what the laws are where you're at. Here, we have a government entity called the Department of Labor and Industries and that is who I went to and filed a complaint with. So they are presently trying to get my last check out of him.
