how do i change the fuel pump on a 1991 ford explorer

i had this car for about a year and never had problems but just yesterday my fuel pump went out.

if the fuel is in the tank, you need to remove the tank, drain as much of the fuel as possible, it kind of twist's out of the tank, it's attatched to the fuel gage and stuff. If its in the tank, its got a long cylinder looking thing with a filter on the bottom which your going to want to change. there will be one electrical plug, and two fuel lines. Remove all that, pull the fuel lines and electrical, replace with pump and install like you removed it. If its an inline pump- along the frame rail, just unscrew the lines and unbolt from the frame and replace.
