Do you have a collection of some kind?

I had a stamp collection and a coin collection when I was very young. I lost interest quickly and they didn't amount to much. Then in 1993 my Mom bought me a Peanuts`/Snoopy snow globe. I really liked it and started collecting more Peanuts`/Snoopy snow globes. I now have 96 Peanuts` snow globes. I like the Christmas ones the best. They are SOOoo adorible. But it didn't stop there. Not only did I collect Peanuts` snow globes, but since 1993, I collected just about every Peanuts`/ Snoopy item I could afford. I bought hand signed drawings and pictures by Charles Shultz from a local art gallery. They have doubled in value with the passing of Charles Shultz in 2000. Another reason for their value sky rocketing is the opening of the Snoopy museum. The museum is buying everything they can get their hands on making mine more valuable. I also have limited edition fine art prints drawn by Tom Everhart. If you haven't heard of him, he was the only person Shultz authorized to draw his Peanuts` gang. On May 17, 2001, they released the Snoopy stamp from the Post Office. I have 200 stamped envelopes with Peanuts` characters on them cancelled on the first day of issue from the Santa Rosa Post Office, the home of Charles Shultz. Before they issued the Snoopy stamps, the Post Office hung giant signs to advertize the stamp. The stamp is a picture of Snoopy as the Flying-Ace, flying his dog house. I have one of those Post Office signs framed and hanging up. I have die cast Nascar 1/24 Peanuts` cars signed by Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon, Nascar drivers. The list goes on and on. I have one whole bedroom for just my Peanuts` collection to show off. Most of my collection is actually in storage. I have 100's of toys I've bought over the years. My favorite toy is a 1969 Official Wilson baseball signed by the Peanuts` gang in mint condition with the original box. A rare find! and...what's a Snoopy collection without a 5 foot stuffed Snoopy holding Woodstock. Well you get the picture. I love my Peanuts` collection. I'm always looking for that rare toy or signed drawing. What do you collect? What was your first item you got?

I also collect Turds and agree that they are excellent value for money. They mainly come in form of figurines made from polyresin and have excellent designs and clever names, yes they are toilet humour but they are so much more to collectors aswell, with some of the figurines being valued at over 250 pounds, thats some serious money for a dollop of poo. Other items in The Turds range include plushie turds, fridgemagnets and there is even a calendar. They can be for all ages too, I am 22 and collect them but others that collect them range from 12 all the way up to over 30 years old, possibly even older. They are fairly recent and so havent got that much recognition yet but I think they will soon hit a whole new level of popularity and will be alot wider spread through the country and even the world.

I used to collect stamps and coins . I have a vast collection of both stamps and coins from all over the world, but right now I do not have the time to sit and clean and collect the stamps. Besides these I also do have a collection of porcelain shoes which forms a part of my sitting room collection.

I have a piggy similar to this - glass pink pig with heart
This sounds silly, but I've collected pigs (no, not real ones) since I was a teenager. Most of my collection is made up of glass pigs, but I have candles, trinkets, stuffed pigs, and so forth. I don't have the money to add to my collection on a regular basis, but it makes me happy when I get a new addition. My brother buys me a hand-picked glass pig every Christmas and they are some of my most treasured pigs.

I have over 10,000 Football Cards. I kind of quit colleting in recent years though. I do from time to time buy older cards on Ebay or at the Flea Market. I buy maybe 2 or 3 packs a year of new cards, and only at flea markets when I can find a good deal.

I collect hens--after all that's who rules the roost! I have figurines, pictures, cannisters, S&P, towels, dishes, craft items, etc. I love them all! When I see a new thing, I'm having it. When I was young I had a dog figurine collection, which I still have all wrapped and boxed up. Hope some are worth something someday... But, I'll never part with my hens!

I used to collect a lot of magazines, still have a lot but not as many. I've recently begun hoarding lots of DVDs and CDs; it's not so much as a collection as a hoard as the masses of DVD's are unorganized and cluttered around the place. I've never seen the interest in stamps or other things [merchandising etc] as it always seems pointless and useless in the long run.

I have a book collection. It started out when I started looking for a 1904 Copy of Uncle Wiggily Longears, it is book that my Grandmother always read to me as a child and I wanted a copy so I could read it to my childern. Well my collection grew from there. My oldest book is from 1846 and weighs 50 pounds (they new how to make books back then). It is a lot of fun looking and search and admiring books! And the loved the lady at the garage sale that sound me a three book set of Mark Twain from 1923 for 25 cents because it was written in. When I opened the books they were signed S.L. Clemings. Yup, I took those for a quater!
