Well,we saw part 2 of American Idol and there were no major surprises. What did you think of the show and is it becoming too "obvious"?Has it lost some of its appeal?

I missed tonight's episode!! I was at the movies with some friends. I love American Idol! But sometimes it does get annoying. Well, okay...it's actually just Paula that annoys me. She makes all these stupid faces. You know she's doing it on purpose. I like Simon. He's honest and funny! Randy....k, he's gotta stop with the dawg thing!!!!

You brought up a good point. That is how the show is being staged. The judges know when they are on camera and respond accordingly. And Simon,he is like House in that he says it like he sees it and to hell with the backlash.

I don't think it has lost its appeal just yet. It's still the start, and the true race and excitement will still begin when the top 12 contestants come onstage and blurt it all out.

I still enjoy it. The good is still good and the bad is still bad, and it's all sickeningly entertaining. It's my guilty pleasure show, I love watching the auditions. I'm probably a horrible person, but... what can I say?

Do you take it as a sort of soap opera? This does not make you horrible or there are millions of people out therewho are in the same boat! Thank you for replying.

We watched American Idol again last night too and for the most part I think that the show is becoming 'too staged' with the contestants and the judges, but that seems to be what people are thriving on, especially with what Simon does. I think it has lost a small amount of appeal but it's still fun to watch anyway.

Is Simon capable of going over the line and people not forgiving him??Remember when "reality shows" were thought to be real?
