I won't tell you that I think it is ok to be gay. However I have a few gay friends and I treat them with the same respect I would give anyone else. I think homosexuality is wrong, but I also think it is wrong to judge others. If we would just "Do unto others..." the world would be a much better place.

I can't say whether or not it is their choice. Maybe or maybe not, but we all have a choice to be respectful of others!

No,homosexual is not a crime, though we are running through 21st century, the mentality of peoples aren't change, our socio-political structure can't welcome this type of phenomena,I strongly protest that, every man or women have its own right to live his/her personal life in a decent manner,so why we have a problem with them, they are not criminals, they also have a mind and they also able to love other people and loved by other people in this world. We,the next generation of this world are must take care of them and must build a sense in our society to understand them.

its not a crime in the western countries, but it is acrime in the middle-east. You should direct your comments towards countries that make it a crime. If you or your friend tell everybody that you are gay, why wouyld expect everyone to just think that is normal? It is normal in your mind, but it is not going to be considered normal public behavior to all. It has never been accepted as totally normal behavior, thats life. Your friend is making himself to be a victim, by expecting other people to accept him with open arms just because he is GAY... dont you think there is some other quality that makes someone acceptable and special, other than their sexuality?

People are afraid of what they don't understand and some people ,when they are afraid, hide it by being cruel, unfair, discriminators. To them, being homosexual is being different. Some people feel uncomfortable or threatened around others who are different. They can't understand homosexuals because they are not willing to get close enough to one for that to occur. It's sad and it's not right, but it's reality. This behavior is not going to change (at least not completely) so your friend should try to find a way to live with it without necessarily accepting it. Hey, I'm not saying it will be easy.

I agree with you! That's just like telling a straight person that it is wrong to love the person that they love. I think that before people go discriminating against someone for how they are, they need to put themselves in that person's shoes. You can't help how your feelings are, they are just there.

It's very simple. Some people are tolerant (of people and ideas that are different) and others are intolerant. Most intolerant people want others to be like they are (and therefore be intolerant of those who are not like they are). Ironically, many of the intolerant are more (traditionally)religious and, conversely, many of the tolerant are less (traditionally) religious.

HI My view point is simple. It is not matter of crime or bad or anything. It is upto their individual thing. But one should follow certain cultural norms & respect it. We are living in a society!!!

I think there is no law punishing a person who for being a homosexual anywhere in the world. People also have the privilege and right to choose their friends and if they don't like homosexuals, it's up to them. I have started a topic entitled What the Bible says on Gays and anybody who wants to read the relevant Bible provisions may go to my Profile and open such topic.

It's not a crime in Canada. In fact, it's perfectly normal. I think it's about time people stop descriminating against those who are different.

My view even i had posted the same question in answers.yahoo.com, i got many responses, say no but most of them answered u should be kicked out. So what to say being gay is crime, instead of that it's better to ask being gay will the society admitt us.

In such a large world with so many people in it. It would be very boring if we all did, & liked the same things. I've always chosen to live & let live. Everyone is entitled to live in the way that suits them, so long as it doesn't harm anyone else.

i don't think so. but i am living in india. in india homosexual is a big crime and may get punisment from the cort for the homosexual act. so i think there is no problem in homosexual if people are interested. but the laws in india never like that.

Being gay means that you're different! Everybody is rejecting something different because they all live in a stereotyped world full of boredom and routine. They can't accept people who are different. They just can't! It's nobody's business what happens in your bed? Which is worse: a Gay Or a man who is cheating on his spouse? I'll let you decide. Gays are inteligent, sensitive people that usually are high above many other str8 people...from oh so many points of view! Gays should be accepted because they are contagious or something and as you said (daniel) they are people too.

Some people just can't deal with those who are different. It's a shame, but unfortunately that's the way things are. You will find a lot of people say it's wrong because it says so in the Bible, personally if everyone in the world was the same it would be rather boring..;)

Being homosexual should never be a crime. No government should dictae our emotions. I'm sorry that you friend is unhappy about the way he is treated where you are. Some countries may be worse than others but I think all seem to discriminate to some degree. I hear a lot that we should all be more "tolerant", but I think tolerant is the wrong word, you "tolerate" bad things when they happen. We should be more "accepting". Accepting that not everybody is the same as we are and that our way is not better than anyone elses way.

all those who are thing that homosexual is crime is wrong according to me because if they are attracted by the person of the same personality then what is wrong in that who said that they are not human being as we are it is depending on the thing of person

here on the states being gay isn't illegal but in some states such Oklahoma gay activities are illicit and gay marriage is only legally binding in one state and discrimination is fading but still lingers and will most likely linger unfortunately and in my opinion what you or what anybody does with their love life is their business and really only their business because ancient Romans or Greeks i don't remember which but one of them used to have bathhouses where it didn't matter what you were you went there and met other people and most of the time ended up doing things so they weren't hated back then why are we hated now?

I don't think being homosexual is a crime OR a sin...if God didn't want you to be gay, he would've given you the desires to be so. So I think anyone who thinks you're going to hell for being gay, maybe they'll go to hell for being close minded...think about that...
