Do your breastfeeding babies use you as pacifiers?

I never introduced my kids to pacifiers so as for them to learn how to soothe themselves and for me not to have a hard time taking out that habit from them. However, with my 2nd baby, he seems to be using me to pacify him, especially when he's asleep already. He co-sleeps with me so I can breastfeed him even while I'm asleep. The thing is, when he wakes up a little in the middle of the night, he looks for my breasts, suckles for a few minutes then goes back to sleep. Our pediatrician says he's using me to pacify him back to sleep and suggests that I use a pacifier already, which I would not try as he is already 5 months old. Is there any way I can take out this "mom, pacify me" habit in the middle of the night? If I don't offer my breast, he'll start crying and my 2-year old daughter might wake up.

Yeah I have that problem. My 4 months old sun do not want pacifiers, but he uses me as one lol. I also co-sleep with him. And I can realte to a lot of what you are writing.
