Cooking can certainly be an art if you choose to make it. There is cooking and then there is cooking. Some dishes are simple to make but they can by made to be something special by adding a few garnishes and placing the food on the plates in an attractive way. I don't have any problem about eating out. I usually go to those places where they serve home cooked meals. For example, I eat lunch out every day at a restaurant nearby that specializes in home cooked meals.....traditional dishes of the various regions in Portugal. Some of them are excellent though very simple. In this case I know the owner and the cook (husband and wife) so I don't have to worry about not knowing who is doing the cooking. If you like to eat and you are in a strange place, look for the restaurants have lots of people inside. Check to see if is homemade cooking. If the place looks clean then take a chance you never know what great food you are missing. I have travelled a great deal over this world..in the far east, south america and europe. I have never had any problems. I have even eaten from the stalls and venders on the streets and never got sick. Be brave, try new things, who knows, you might like everything.
