Who thinks Netscape Browser is extremely, extremely, extremely slow??!!

OK, i don't know how many people out there are using netscape as their browser, and how many people are bored about this browser-disussion. I just wanted to point this question because i've just recently switched to netscape because the (all-praise and so-called award winning) firefox browser that i used to be using was exploited by virus and my antivirus software didn't even detect it at first!! Now that i'm switching to netscape, i think netscape is worst than IE (which ppl complain all the time about). It's slow, slow, slow. The "attractive" skin feature is making it even slower! People who have been using netscape for some time can you tell me, netscape should consider leaving the internet world or I should leave the internet world? (no offense if you or you are relatives/family to those working for related companies :D )

I've been using Firefox since it first came out and havent got any problems except some minor ones (bugs and crashes). A question to the topic starter, how can Firefox infect your computer with viruses?

Eh, hi, the small "Gaara"! Anyway...answering your question, it's definitely because of one of the exploits that firefox has but people (like me, lol) are not very aware of, because they care more about bringing IE (and microsoft) down.

Hi Big Gaara :) Its very rare for Firefox to have exploits and it's fixed right away, compared to IE that almost every week or less exploits are being found Netscape and Firefox uses mozilla as a base, I think there's no different to each other except the layout.

Hmm...particularly true. Netscape was one of the first browser there was. Firefox was made to resemble netscape's features rather than the other way round. But turned out today that net$cape is rather more disappointing...? :(

I have used Netscape and didn't like it and I used to use IE and I hate it now too. IE crashes too much and is too slow so I switched to Firefox and I haven't had any problems with it. I like it so much better. :)

well yes i think that netscape is a very slow and eats up lot of sysytem resources and also it has a very different way to scan the website and i think that it creates a lot of problem. but the new netsacpe has a nie option. in it you can scn the pages in both firefox engine and also in microsoft engine so you can chekc youer page in the same browser for compatibility. but again it is so heavy on reosurces that it does not make sense

True. This is called "rendering engine". It can switch the rendering engine to Firefox or IE whenever appropriate. And we can change that according to our needs too. It's cool, yes. Very cool, handy for web designer. But for this alone, it slowed down the program to worst. So it is not cool anymore.
