For the fact, morals vary from person to person. So, how is morality defined? Is it just based on one's spiritual conviction or one's principles or upbringing? What do you think?

Morality is relative to ones religion because we make our own principles from our religion whether we shud follow sumthing or not... Becasue we take such values from our preceeders who have derived it from the religion...they have taught us these things and @ d end of the day we believe in them also...

i believe its a blend of all that: spiritual conviction, principles and upbringing. its true that each person has his/her own set of morals and definition for morality. i think morality is some basic set values which havn't changed much over the years and are still relevant and followed by a majority of people. whether you follow all of those is upto you...

In Christianity Moral values are very high, it is very difficult for anyone to follow this tough principles but it is not impossible, those who are true Believers in Jesus should follow it then only they will be moral in every sense, the bible says that even if you look at a women with lust in your eyes you have already committed adultery so it is so strict so you have to be so careful.

mostly it is associated with religion, because they said the basis for morality is the bible, but i personally believe that there is no basis for morality, it is how we drive our life, and i dont think there is a person in this world living such a saint with a morally uplifted life

Well, part of me is agreeing with you. But I feel that principles is somewhat relative to other things, it could be religion or upbringing. Whew! It seems now that they are in circles. One is relative to the other. Hehehee What do you think?

Never, I think that morallity is never related to the religion you are from or community. If you are hurting or cheating a person this is wrong whether you are from whichever religion. Isn't it??? AS far as principles are concerned, all those principles are futile which harm someone or the other in one or the other way. Hence, I would like to say that morality is never rellative to a religion or principles.

Morality is not treligion. It is a virtue and blends with any religion that you can think of. Atheists even embrace morality and practice it to the letter. What about ocults? they also believe in morality. So morality is a viture and can become one's principle whether one is religious or not.
