I'm suffering with that Injury for the last 3years. Result is paralisation of my right hand due to loss of power in the nervous system. It happened by road accident. The main Injury is plucking of nervous system from roots near the neck part from spinal cord. In other words, a growing plant is removed from earth by force and placed in the same spot. Can the plant Grows as usual. This is my case. I am taking Physiotherapy treatment all these days. Due to this I've resigned from services of Bank as Scale I officer. Can anybody tell when I can have my Right hand as usual?

Hi, I was just wondering how your injury is healing. I had long thorasic and spinal accessory nerve damage due to an accident at work. My shoulder blade stuck 6 inches out of my back when I tried to extend my arm. I had horrible neck, back and shoulder, and arm pains. I couldn't move my arm more than 30 degrees from my body. I still have bad headaches. I saw at least 12 different doctors and they all said if physical therapy did not fix it I would be that way forever. Forever sounded horrible since I am 23. My friends mom is an R.N and she refered me to this periphrial nero surgon, I saw her once, the next time was in the OR. The results were great. I saw improvement right away. I was in P.T for three mos. I have full range of motion and strength. I still have some neck aches and headaches but thats much better than loss of arm function. If you want more info on my DR write back and I will give you more details.

This was happened in year 2003. Already three years passed. Still I'm not able to get action in my wrist and fingers. PT is continued. The only development I got is action at should joint. The arm is free now, without any grip or holding capacity. The nerve is still generating its connection to the main line. So it may take another 2 more years to get the full action. Until then I've to depend on my left hand only.

hello.im a physiotherapist and have dealt with many Brachial plexus injuries.your recovery will largely depend on the type of lesion, which nerve roots are involved and the therapy u are taking.U should be regular with ur exercises, stimulation, splints[if required].put in a lot of effort and im msure ur hand will be functional very soon. All the best.

it most likely appears to be erbs paralysis... in tht case ur hand will remain in such a position called as policemens tip position i.e arm is rotated inwards and hand is flexed and it appears as if policemen is taking tip secretly... thrs no tretmnet as such.. u can continue with physiotherapy as tht may help u in gaining some strength...
