I have set my preferences so that I don't accept bids from people with zero or less feedback.

I do this as well. I mainly mean it for the accts that were open that day, kwim? If osmeone emailed me and said "hey, I have zero but I am really interested" then I'd probibaly change my mind.

I have not done anything like that. I do know that you can set your preferences to only accept bidders that meet certain requirements. Maybe you can set it to not accept bids from people like that??? I think that you can.

Well I usually state on my auction to email me first if you have 0 feedback. Sometimes people do it, sometimes they don't. The majority of the time I haven't had a problem with newbies though the last one I did was terrible. Kept saying they wanted to pay and then disappeared. It's like don't bid on the auction then!

I have been selling on ebay for a year now and I have had my share of bad experiences with zero feedback. Not that they are all that way, we were all new at one time. You can set your preferences to not accept bids from people with low feedback. DO watch for people that leave negative feedback! Had a person over Christmas order coupons, didn't care for the selection, and left negative feedback. When I check their profile(new user)they had only left one positive feedback out of six! Watch for people like this...they give thereselves a bad name.

I don't use anything extra for the people who have 0 feed-backs. I totally believe that everyone deserves a decent start. However ... I would be very leery of anyone with more then an occasionally negative and would first go read the comments on the negative feed-backs and see what they were given for. I also go through and look at all the neutral feed backs and read them as well to see what they were given for. (and the same as well for any that were withdrawn) Hope this helps!!
