Do you think it is ok to give a baby a pacifier? We give our son one . He really likes pacifiers, though he doesn't have to have one all the time. It helps calm him down if he is upset or really tired.

Those pacifiers help to fill some of the baby's oral cravings, that we do not want be unresolved when they grow up. I would say it is okay just make sure it is always clean like what we do on the feeding bottles.

I think it is also natural for them to want one.

yeah. I see your point. I know, I always try to keep it clean, but is hard sometimes. Sometimes it hits the floor and he has it back in his mouth before I can clean it.

Ha ha ha then give him about five of those pacifiers handy within his reach and save time going back and forth to him.

I don't see anything wrong with that. We gave our daughter one when she was little too, and she didn't have to have it all the time either. She could calm herself at times without it too.

I think it is a wonderful thing it helps them with teething and gives them some focus when needed.

I think it is o-kay to a point. It bothers me to see kids 3 & up walking around with one in their mouth though. None of my girls have ever wanted one, so I never really had to deal with it. My youngest seems to think I am a human pacifier though lol.
