So, Microsoft will be releasing the brand new Windows Vista OS really soon and I was wondering who's going to start using it? What's your opinion in this new OS? Do you think it will feature as much security flaws as Windows XP or do you think it will be a way more secure and improved OS?

Windows ALWAYS have problems with newly released software. I think that it is this massive plan by Apple that they pay hackers to make super viruses for the new versions of windows and then Windows will get bad rep and everyone will buy Apple!

Haha, well, that's not a bad conspiracy theory but it's hardly near to the truth, I suppose :) Apple are still very far away from Microsoft when it comes to number of clients, but it's a strady and growing alternative. Thanks for your reply.

O no!! I also, am a die-hard Windows fan.. but everything seems to be going wrong with this company! I think that the vista will become better after the summer. IE 7.0 is really starting to get on my nerves.. I really don't like it when Windows updates but I know that it has to or else it will crash! AAHH!!

I've been running Vista Ultimate on a second computer for three days now. Don't waste your money, it's junk. Hackers ( from Mac?) won't need to bother with this one at all. It'll kill itself, ( and your computer system! ) Does anyone remember the Pinto? Or the Gremlin? They'd run my computer better than Vista. ( and i'm a die hard Windows fan! )

I think I'll wait at least 6 months after it's released before trying it. Newly released windows usually have a ton of bugs and security holes so I'd wait a bit just to be safe.

Yeah, I'm thinking of doing the same...always the safest option after all.

I'm not shure about it, but I guess I will wait at least a year. I wanna make shure, that all the hardware companies are offering their drivers etc. Besides I didn't get many good responds from people, who are using vista already. Too many problems, too much of a waste of time at the moment. The only thing I really would like about it, is the new searching tool. That thing rocks. But for me, all this aero-crap is for nothing and it needs a lot of power from your computer. So, what is that good for? I wanna have an os to work with, not to look at. We'll see...

I got a brand-new computer just a couple of weeks ago. It had Vista pre-installed on it. The PC was a gift, so I didn't choose it. At any rate, when I powered it on and saw the Vista boot screen I nearly cried! Vista is so touchy with compatibility. Before I even tried it I had heard horror stories from friends who couldn't use certain software, play their games (and World of Warcraft is one that I enjoy that I know has a hard time with Vista. Or Vista has a hard time with it. One of the two), or what have you. Vista has some slick features. The sidebar is nice. Searching is greatly improved. Nice work-related enhancements. However, I also knew it had issues with Skype (or vice versa, again). And Skype is something I simply can't do without, even if I were fine with no more WoW! ;) Skype is how I talk to my boyfriend, who is in the Netherlands, every day. I couldn't bear not hearing his voice. So, before having even owned the new PC for 24 hours, I found myself reformatting, and getting RID of Windows Vista. (It should be noted, I did TRY Vista... it was just for less than 24 hours! XD )
