lots of people preach that happiness is just a state of mind...has got nothing to do with the situations , incidnts or circumstances around you...lots of people living in dreadful conditions stay impressively happy....while people enjoying all sorts of comforts and luxuries are sometimes really not happy...so is happiness independent of thse things??

happiness is a indeed a state of mind. Only a state of mind. now what determines that state of mind varies from person to person. But mostly the material world is unable to appease the human mind. many people get tired of materialism and look to spirituality to attain happiness of soul amidst the simpler things that nature offers us.

Happiness is. If you need to have some one or some thing to be happy you will never be happy. Happiness is not a state of mind, it is an acceptance of what is and not what might have been, not what will be, just what is.
