My 8 month old and her father?

The father of three of my children has been gone since my daughter was 2 months old, and she is now 8 months. He kept her for about 2 hours the other night, and when my dad picked her up he said all she had done the whole time was cry. Now she is very insecure. I can't leave her sight unless my dad is there. She won't sleep at night unless she is laying on my chest. I just don't know what to do about this problem.
