simputer is the palm-top computer developed in india and was rated as invention of the year in early years of the new mellenium....and ranked higher than ipod......
the inventor wanted to use it as a tool to eradicate digital divide among rural india and started a no profit organization to realize his dream.....
but due to lack of support from government and skilled people it cud not get the recognition it shud have got...
please join the effort and do whatever help u cud....

yes... it is also called the computer of the poor.... once i have heard that it is used by traffic police in banglore and it helped in increasing the revenues by 75 lakhs
