Why is organic food more expensive than conventional food?

I think organic food is more expensive than conventional food because its healthier for you and more people buy conventional food than they do organic and they have to make their money somehow.

I think it's because of the laws of supply and demand. There's less of it, so producers charge more. I also think it's marketing as well -- people who want healthier food are willimg to pay more for it.

My husband and I talk about that all the time. Not only just organic food but even just to eat healthy cost more. If we purchase fresh vegatables they cost a lot more than veggies in a can or frozen ones. Fruit drink cost more than real fruit juice. It's a travesty.
