Need Help on Need for Speed 2 Most Wanted

I'm to beat "Bull" Blacklist #2 and i'm having a hard time with the milestone challenge evading almost a dozen silver patrol cars not to mention the SUVs just popping in front of me ramming my Gallardo into a full stop. Could anybody here give me some tips on the weaknessess of these silver patrol cars or how to tune my Gallardo to outsprint them. Thanks!!!
