I am currently 6 months pregnant and I've been researching about baby stuff. Someone told me that exposing your baby to Classical music can make them smarter, then I googled this up too and found some articles regarding this! Do you guys believe in the Mozart effect?

I'd like to believe so. My sister in law exposed her unborn baby to classical music and now that the baby is almost 2years old, his lullaby is classical music as well. I can't say he's smart or anything. In fact he still isn't talking straight yet but he's such a happy baby and rarely cries.

That's really nice to hear. I also have friends that tell me that the mom should also read something to the baby while the baby's still in the womb. I am trying these things now and hoping that it will somehow help my baby in whatever way.

my sister recently gave birth to a baby girl, in line with this, i researched all that i could regarding "baby matters", most especially about music. what ive found out is that the mozart effect appeared to be just rumors.
yes, research found out that those who listens to mozart before examination increases their spatial relationship skill, but the music has no lasting effect on babies.
it might soothe them, yes, but their mental development relies on how much you have taken care of yourself during pregnancy and your dedication to the child when he/she is born.
for the mozart effect, try this link:

I am 5 months pregnant and have started playing Mozart for the baby. I usually play one cd a night. There has been research that the same areas in the brain that are active while doing math are activated when listening to mozart.
